Wedneday Wins!

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love.

Lead: Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
Response: And you shall renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Ruel and I just finished reading today's gospel readings via Kerygma.

I just had my breakfast.

We just came from the Grace Hospital.

He took the day off to accompany me.

Thank You Lord for my husband's care.

He exhibited his usual signs of anxiety prior to us leaving earlier.

So, coming home, I asked him, what was bothering him.

I reminded ourselves that  we must hold on to God's Word and promises through His Scripture. His Word.

I gave him several quotes to hold on to.

Oh no!! I just remembered, we forgot to pay a visit to a sister in the community while we were there.

Offering a Hail Mary for this sister's full and complete recovery soonest in Jesus most mighty name.

Today's first reflection from Mari Sison Garcia was about losing her sister to Covid.

Mari Sison Garcia would be a prominent feature in the yearly Holy Week Seven Last Words telecast from Christ the King Church in E.Rodgriguez, Manila.

She always sported a very nice hair cut.

I remembered the time I got Covid in 2020.

First in May 2020 then a 2nd time in June.

I thought I was a real goner.

We were barely 4 months in Canada as new immigrants.

I was super weak. My nail beds were black. Not purple or deep red. Black.

Seeing them made me a bit scared.

Every breath a took brought a thousand like pricks of small swords in my chest and back.

I felt like I was drowning.

I had to catch my breath.

I was too weak to bring myself to the bathroom.

Only one thing I promised Ruel not to do, was to bring me to the hospital.

I instinctively knew that If I was ever admitted, I would simply fall into the cracks of the hospital system here.

Everyone was still groping in the dark with the pandemic.

I just would ask for prayers.

If I could feel I was slipping away, I would ask Ruel, Marina and Marcelina to pray over me.

I kept begging them to pray...pray hard.

Clearly, it worked!

I am still alive and kicking!

Praise God for His grace of life and mercy.

Mari Sison- Garcia's sister was not so fortunate enough to see another day.

With her countless of others fell victim to the man-made tragedy of the Wuhan virus.

May Our Lord Jesus, by His blood and Holy Name continue to cover us and save us.

He is the only Savior we can hold on to.

Today's reflection questions:

What are your God-given gifts? How have you used them? Do you believe that you still have undiscovered gifts?

If the Lord decides to call you today, are you ready?

My prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me be ready, always.

Seeking Your Will and fulfilling it to our last breath.

May God be praised!
